From Novak Djokovic to Gary Lineker via David Coulthard, sporting stars have often compared their professions to lovemaking – and some even said their day job was better.
With Djokovic comparing a hard fought victory to a vigorous session of intercourse, Lineker once claimed that it simply couldn’t compare to scoring a late winner.

Novak Djokovic once compared a particularly gruelling match to getting intimate with his long-term partner Jelena who would later become his wife.

Djokovic said after a hard fought victory over Viktor Troicki in 2010: “It was like sleeping with my girlfriend.”
Djokovic has gone on to have a son and a daughter with Jelena and joined up with Troicki in several doubles tournaments on the court.
Back in 2018, Barcelona icon Dani Alves had fans scratching their heads with his praise of Pep Guardiola’s coaching skills.

He simply said that playing under the Spaniard was: “Better than sex!” With Guardiola replying: “I prefer the sex!”
F1 legend David Coulthard was once convinced sex before races made him drive faster.

Asked in 2002 whether he had sex before a race, he reportedly said: “Sure, why not?”
According to the Irish Examiner, Coulthard, who these days is married to stunning Belgian F1 host Karen Minier, added: “Sex makes you fast.”
Gary Lineker recently insisted that scoring a goal is better than sex because the thrill lasts longer.

He said: “Scoring a goal…people use that silly thing, ‘Oh is it better than sex?’ You can’t have it any time you want but you can kind of know you’re going to have sex at some point.
“Whereas you don’t know if you’re ever going to score again.”
Jimmy Demaret, who was the first three-time winner of the Masters, uttered an iconic quote on adult relations before his passing back in 1983.
He said: “Golf and sex are the only things you can enjoy without being good at them!”
