Maria Sharapova has revealed she’s expecting her first child with her fiancé Alexander Giles.
The retired tennis player announced the exciting news on her 35th birthday.
Taking to Instagram, the mum-to-be shared a sweet snap of her cradling her baby bump on the beach.
She captioned the post: “Precious beginnings!!! Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty.”
A host of the couple’s famous friends congratulated them in the comment section, including American actress Lily Collins and Australian model Lara Worthington.
The news comes two years after Maria announced her engagement to the British businessman in December 2020.
The 42-year-old has close ties to the Royal family, and is a friend of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Alexander attending William and Kate’s 2011 wedding, and was also invited to Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.
Maria retired as a professional tennis player in February 2020, after 28 years.
