The awkward silence of Lewis Hamilton finally came to an end on Saturday when the Briton broke his two-month-long streak by uploading a comeback post on social media. The seven-time world champion wrote, “I’m back”. Well, he most certainly is!
We did know that this day was long overdue, as each day of his absence only led to bigger worries and more panic. Is he retiring from F1? Has he lost hope in the FIA? Has he given up on the pursuit of his eighth title? Too many such questions persisted within the head of a lot of fans and the desperation consequently grew.
On top of that, Toto Wolff’s comments along with statements from Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Dr. Helmut Marko, and Zak Brown added fuel to the ever-growing concerns. At one point, many fans had even lost hope on Hamilton returning to social media and most importantly, F1.
Amidst such a chaotic couple of months, all that was needed from Hamilton’s side was one very simple post with a straightforward caption to get the fans to go absolutely berserk.
